Axelborg Bodega is an old-school Danish bodega on Axeltorv serving the classics: stegt flæsk, stjerneskud, smørrebrød and flæskesteg, often with a jazz band playing early evening. It draws a genuine local crowd in an otherwise touristy patch, with prices that are reasonable by Copenhagen standards, though the food can be a bit hit-or-miss. Come for the traditional dishes, cheap beer and characterful, unpretentious atmosphere rather than precision cooking.
