Terms of Service

The service

Spis is an app for everything food: your recipes, meal plans and shopping lists, and a map of places to eat with editorial descriptions, community reviews and photos. Parts of the service are free with usage caps; a paid tier may offer more. Spis is young and evolves quickly; features can change, and we work hard to not lose your data while they do.

Your account

You must be at least 13 years old. Keep your login to yourself; you are responsible for what happens through your account. One account per person. We can suspend accounts that break these terms.

Your content

What you create stays yours — recipes, reviews, photos, everything. So that the service can work, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide license to store, process and display your content within Spis. For photos of places you additionally confirm, at upload, that you took the photo yourself and license us to show it with that place; photos copied from others are removed.

Reviews must reflect your genuine experience. No spam, no undisclosed promotion of your own business, no harassment. We may remove content that breaks these rules and confirm or reject community reports; contribution points are granted and revoked at our reasonable discretion.

Recipes are private by default. If a sharing feature shows your content to others (for example a shared meal plan), it shows exactly what the feature says it shows.

Our content

The place database, editorial texts ("the Spis take"), summaries and the app itself are ours or our licensors'. You may not scrape, bulk-extract or republish them. Facts about places come from open data and research; we verify what we can, but hours change and places close — check before you travel far.

Acceptable use

No unlawful use, no attempts to break, overload or reverse-engineer the service, no automated mass access, no uploading content you have no right to share, nothing hateful or harassing.

AI features

AI-generated recipes and suggestions are a starting point, not professional advice. Check quantities, temperatures and allergens yourself.

Liability

Spis is provided "as is". To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect damages or lost data beyond gross negligence and intent, and our total liability is capped at what you paid us in the last 12 months. Nothing in these terms limits rights that consumer law gives you and that cannot be waived.

Ending things

You can delete your account at any time in Settings; that erases your data as described in the privacy policy. We can terminate accounts that violate these terms, with notice where the law requires it.

Changes and law

We may update these terms; material changes are announced in the app before they take effect. These terms are governed by the law of Spis's home country; mandatory consumer protections of your country of residence remain untouched.
