The Spis take

A classic Danish brown bar on a Frederiksberg corner — old wood, lamplight, fruit machines, cigarette smoke and cheap Tuborg/Carlsberg with a snaps chaser. There are no frills and no gastronomy here; it's a cosy, out-of-time neighbourhood værtshus that feels intimate by day and livelier at night. Exactly right if an unreconstructed bodega is what you're after, skippable if it isn't.
