Escobar is a beloved basement rock-and-metal bar on Blågårdsgade in Nørrebro: dim light, skulls and dark decor set to a soundtrack running from classic rock to death and black metal. Despite the grim theatrics it's a friendly, tongue-in-cheek place, and the draw is cheap-for-Copenhagen drinks, including bargain cocktails on tap and discounted happy-hour pours. Open from 4pm daily with a bit of outdoor seating; if you like your bars loud, dark and unpretentious, this is a neighbourhood institution.
