The Spis take

Ewalds is a French-leaning brasserie in the heart of Frederiksberg, opposite Frederiksberg Gardens, from chef Søren Ewald Fossum (whose CV runs through Gorilla, Jagger and Bistro Central). The kitchen does the brasserie canon with care — steak tartare, moules frites, a good steak with béarnaise — in a warm neighbourhood room, and its wine list earned a Star Wine List silver in 2024. A dependable, grown-up spot for classic bistro cooking and a proper glass of wine.
