The Spis take

A characterful old beer bar and eatery on Frederiksberg Alle, in a 1908 former bank turned patisserie turned pub — 26 taps, classic Danish lunch and dinner, and a theatre-street history (author Dan Turell was a regular, and they still keep his photo above his old seat). It's a warm, unpretentious spot for smorrebrod, schnapps and a proper draft in a room with genuine local heritage. Go for the beers and the atmosphere more than culinary fireworks.
