Good fortraditional Danish smørrebrød in Tivoli
“
The Spis take
One of Tivoli's oldest and most nostalgic restaurants, running since 1874, with checkered tablecloths, colourful lamps and a proudly old-fashioned Danish menu of smørrebrød, roast pork and the house Skipperlabskovs stew. It's a genuine institution and a lovely, atmospheric spot for classic Danish lunch inside the gardens, with cheerful (if run-off-their-feet) service. Caveats: it gets packed and cramped, prices are firmly tourist-in-Tivoli level, and food execution can be uneven. Come for the tradition and the setting, book ahead.
