KALA is a calm, family-run coffee bar and café on Ryesgade in Nørrebro, run by the Ingvartsen family and pitched as a homely spot for coffee, brunch and pastries. Expect sourdough with Vesterhavs cheese, tidy sandwiches and banana bread, plus the occasional low-key event — running meetups, wine afternoons, candle-making. It's an unpretentious neighborhood café near the Lakes rather than a specialty-coffee destination, but a pleasant, relaxed place to sit.
