The Spis take
Denmark's oldest patisserie, going strong at Skoubogade since 1870, and still the grande dame of Copenhagen cake culture. Come for the towering layer cakes (the creamy 'Sportskage' is the signature) and a pot of proper hot chocolate served in beautiful 1890s rooms of mahogany and brass. It's touristy, pricey and often has a queue on weekends, but it earns every krone; go on a weekday morning if you want a table without the wait.
