The Spis take

One of Kødbyen's oldest butcher bodegas — its name means 'the master and the apprentice,' a nod to the meatpacking-district workers who once drank here. Today it's an unpretentious, cash-friendly dive with cheap beer, a warm come-as-you-are crowd, indoor smoking and a busy music programme most nights toward the weekend. A Copenhagen institution for a proper low-key night out; go for the atmosphere and the people, with simple bar food (burgers, moules-frites) on the side.
