The Spis take
Its generation's most influential restaurant — a seasonal, foraged spectacle worth every krone and every month on the waiting list.
People say
Noma is widely treated as a bucket-list, world-class destination: diners and critics repeatedly praise the inventive Nordic and fermentation-driven cooking, the warm and unpretentious service, and the serene greenhouse setting, with several reviewers saying every course landed and calling it a 'perfect meal' worth the steep price. A recurring counterpoint is that the experience can feel more intellectually impressive than purely delicious, and the very high cost plus extreme reservation difficulty make it a splurge people only do once. Important status note: the original restaurant ceased regular service in February 2024 and ran as a research kitchen/pop-up operation, but it is returning to Copenhagen as a full restaurant reopening 5 August 2026 with a new twelve-season format, so current availability and format differ from its classic era.
