The Spis take

Maison is an unabashedly classic French bistro near Marmorkirken — marble, deep wall colours, mirrors and Parisian wicker chairs — serving the canon: oysters, pâtés and terrines, meunière fish, steak au poivre, all shifting a little with the season and the day's catch. It leans elegant and a touch pricey, but the cooking and wine service are genuinely accomplished, and the small summer terrace is a lovely perch. A dependable pick when you want proper old-school French rather than experiment.
