Skipper Bageri, opened in 2022 on Østerbrogade, is one of the newer Copenhagen bakeries worth crossing town for, nailing both Danish classics and French technique in a bright, high-ceilinged space where you watch the bakers work. Expect excellent croissants (plain through pistachio and pain au chocolat), cardamom buns, tebirkes and tea cakes, made with carefully sourced flour, Danish seasonal fruit and good chocolate and dairy. It's a genuine local favorite for a morning pastry and coffee; go early, as the best things sell out.
