The Spis take

A small, genuinely beloved neighbourhood food shop out in Brønshøj doing honest, homemade Danish food — praised smørrebrød, a daily hot special (dagens ret), and its own sourdough and cakes, much of it takeaway. Everything's made from scratch with real pride, and locals rave about the warmth and attentive service as much as the food. It's the definition of a cosy, down-to-earth local gem; worth the trip if you're chasing proper homemade Danish cooking. (On summer break, reopening 4 August.)
