The Spis take

Spiseloppen is a Christiania institution — a candlelit dining room up a graffiti-covered stairwell above the Loppen music venue, run by a rotating international crew whose kitchen changes the menu daily. It's not fine dining and reviews swing (most love the relaxed, unpretentious cooking and generous portions; a few report misses), but the vibe is genuinely one-of-a-kind and it takes vegetarians and vegans seriously. Go for the setting and the freetown experience as much as the plate.
