Despite the 'vinstue' name, Toga is one of Copenhagen's oldest and most storied bodegas — a dark, wood-panelled tavern near Strøget famous as an off-the-record watering hole for Danish politicians of every stripe. It's a beer-and-history place far more than a wine bar, all prewar atmosphere and lively conversation. If you want a proper old-school Danish drinking den with genuine political folklore, this is a classic; polished it is not, and that's the point.
