The Spis take

Told & Snaps is a proper classic smørrebrød lunch restaurant just off Nyhavn on Toldbodgade, and one of the better bets in the area for the real thing. The kitchen leans on fresh, largely organic ingredients, from old-fashioned pickled herring and hand-peeled shrimp to butter-fried beef tartare, and there's a house range of flavoured schnapps to go with it. It reads as authentic rather than touristy despite the location, and it's popular enough that booking ahead is wise.
