The Spis take

Turesen is an old-school Danish lunch house near Ørstedsparken that's been serving traditional smørrebrød since 2000, with a grandmother's-parlour feel of antique furniture and an enormous snaps-and-aquavit selection. Come for the classics done in the honest, homely register: marinated herring, pan-fried plaice, the usual open-sandwich canon. It's a warm traditional experience beloved by many, though feedback can be mixed and it's more comfort-classic than the city's cutting-edge smørrebrød.
