The Spis take

The Paleet-mall branch of Oslo's well-regarded Åpent Bakeri, occupying a space (formerly United Bakeries) just off Karl Johans gate. It's a reliable stop for good bread, pastries, scones and a European-style breakfast or brunch with plenty of seating, though as a shopping-center outpost it's more convenient than atmospheric. Fine for a coffee-and-pastry break mid-stroll rather than a special outing.
