The Spis take

A wonderfully specific little corner spot in Gamlebyen where the room doubles as a vintage shop full of 1960s-70s Norwegian furniture, lamps and porcelain — much of it for sale. Started in 2020 by a father-daughter duo, it does coffee, Norwegian and Belgian waffles and toasts by day and slides into wine and beer by evening (you'll also see it as 'Arv Vin & Vaffel'), plus quiz nights and the odd Sunday pancake buffet. Go for the atmosphere and a waffle with brown cheese; it's a charming quirky local, not a serious kitchen.
