A big, dependable central café-restaurant near Akershus Fortress whose real draw is the huge summer terrace overlooking the fortress and the square. The kitchen turns out crowd-pleasing Norwegian and Scandinavian classics (fish soup, seafood, meat dishes) to a steady if unspectacular standard, and the sheer volume of reviews reflects its role as a busy, convenient sentrum stop. Service and value can be uneven when it's slammed, but on a sunny day the terrace earns its keep.
