The Spis take

A snug, seriously good oyster and wine bar tucked into Fredensborg, inspired by Vancouver's oyster-bar culture and pouring an extensive, thoughtfully chosen list (some by the tap). The staff genuinely know their bivalves and bottles, and are happy to walk first-timers through the ropes without any snobbery. It's a wine-and-snacks destination rather than a full dinner, and the odd review flags an off oyster, but for a small-plates-and-good-wine evening it punches well above its size.
