This is the Arkaden branch of Kaffebrenneriet, the homegrown Oslo roaster-chain that predates the third-wave hype and still does the reliable, unfussy espresso most locals grew up on. Being tucked into the Arkaden mall off Karl Johans gate, it's more a dependable pit-stop than a destination cafe — solid coffee, fresh baked goods, and a bring-your-own-cup discount. Don't expect a hushed specialty temple, but for a quick, honest cup in the middle of the tourist drag it does the job.
