The Spis take

Oslo's oldest rock bar, going since 1984 and still one of the true engines of the city's rock and roll scene, having hosted Turbonegro, Gluecifer, The Hellacopters and The Hives among many others. It's dim, well-worn and unpretentious, with rock classics on the stereo, cheap-ish drinks by Oslo standards and regular live gigs. If you want a polished cocktail lounge this isn't it, but for atmosphere and history it's an institution.
