The Spis take

One of central Oslo's most striking new rooms: a former Baptist church with 13-metre ceilings turned into a matbar (food-and-wine bar), open since 2025, right across from the Rockefeller concert hall. The kitchen does an à la carte sharing menu of seasonal small plates that changes constantly, paired with a dynamic list running from classics to natural styles across price points and drawn from the owners' own import company. Independently owned and pro-small-farmer, it's a genuinely exciting spot, drinks upstairs on the mezzanine, dinner below; a real destination for the seasonal-plates-and-wine crowd.
