The Spis take

Norway's national jazz venue, in a handsome former cinema/theatre on Karl Johans gate, programming high-quality Norwegian and international jazz with excellent sound and an intimate room — café tables up front, an amphitheatre of sofas behind. There's a proper bar with a good beer and wine list, but note they don't serve food, so eat first. Primarily a concert destination for the music, and a very good one.
